Pumps

The arch cradles your foot, the cushioned sole supports every step. Women's leather pumps, handcrafted in Spain, sizes 33 to 40.

Comfortable Leather Pumps

Comfort in pumps

Can pumps really be comfortable?

Plus
Yes. What matters is not the heel height. It is how the shoe fits the foot. Comfortable pumps exist when the arch follows the curve of the foot, distributing weight across the entire sole: the foot does not slide forward, the toes have space, the leather moves with you.

You have probably worn pumps that felt fine in the shop and hurt two hours later. It was not a question of height. It was a question of shape. Our workshops work on that shape before anything else. When it is right, you forget the heel.

What heel height for wearing pumps every day?

Plus
The one where you stop thinking about it. For most women, that is between 5 and 7 cm. Below that, the pump loses its silhouette. Above, the weight shifts to the ball of the foot, and after a few hours, every step costs.

The instinct is to go higher, thinking it looks more elegant. But elegance is in the walk, not the centimetres. If you hesitate between two heights, take the lower one. And if heels remain a concern, Mary Janes offer the same height with a strap that changes everything.

Can you wear pumps from morning to evening?

Plus
Yes. The difference between a pump that lasts 3 hours and one that lasts 12 is not the leather you see. It is everything you do not see: the leather lining that breathes with the foot, the insole that does not compress, and the form the shoe is built on, the one that decides whether the foot stays in place or slides forward.

Our workshops spend as much time on that form as on choosing the leather. Comfortable pumps are not something you spot in the shop. They are something you feel at the tenth hour.

Materials and choices

Patent or suede: what changes for a pump?

Plus
Patent is a lacquer applied to the leather: a clean, almost graphic sheen, immediate presence. Suede is the opposite: the leather is buffed on its surface to reveal a soft, matte texture. One adds a layer, the other removes one. Two finishes, two temperaments.

Inside, it is the same leather. Both breathe, both shape to the foot. The difference in daily life: patent resists scuffs and wipes clean with a cloth. Suede is more delicate, but it ages with more character. As with all leather shoes, it is the use that guides the choice, not the quality.

How can you tell a pump is well made?

Plus
Turn it over. If the lining is leather, if the seams are even, if the insole is smooth and properly set, someone has spent time where no one looks. That is the first sign.

The second is the sole edge: a clean edge, no rough spots, no visible glue. Italian workshops spend as much time on these invisible finishes as on cutting the leather. What you cannot see is what makes a pump last. What you feel underfoot is what makes you wear it every day.

For everyday

How to wear pumps with a casual look?

Plus
Change nothing else. Straight jeans, a white t-shirt, nothing more. It is the pump that transforms the silhouette, not the other way round. Nappa in a warm tone or suede softens the whole look without you having to think about it. The mistake is trying to « dress up » the rest to match the shoe. Let it do its job.

And on the days when heels are not the mood, ballet flats take over. Same leather, same look, just lower.

How to care for patent leather pumps?

Plus
Not like classic leather. Patent is a lacquered surface: creams and polishes do not penetrate, they leave a dull film. A soft, slightly damp cloth is enough. For a small scuff, a touch of petroleum jelly on cotton, in circular motions, and the surface is smooth again.

Store them upright in a cloth bag, away from other shoes: the lacquer marks on contact. Every step is in the care guide. Well-maintained patent does not lose its shine. It gains depth.
